Bio
Hi, I am Ms. Jeffries. I am a native of Telfair County and a graduate of Telfair County High School. I graduated from Mercer University in 1994 with a B.S. in Middle Grades Education. In 1999, I received my M. Ed. in Middle Grades Education from Georgia Southwestern State University. I continued my educational journey at Lincoln Memorial University where I obtained my EdS in Curriculum and Instruction in 2013. In addition, I have gifted and special education certifications. I am ecstatic to begin my 25th year of teaching at Warner Robins High School.
I began my teaching career at Telfair County Middle School in 1997 and taught 6th grade ELA until 2006. While at Telfair, I was also the head cheerleading coach for 4 years. In 2006, I moved to Atlanta and continued my teaching career as the Academic Coordinator at Shepherd Center. At Shepherd Center, I worked with spinal cord injured adolescents in continuing their education; my students ranged from 6th – 12th graders. In 2009, I returned to my hometown and worked with the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice as a Juvenile Detention Counselor until 2011. In 2011, I began teaching at Dodge County Middle School. During my time at Dodge County Middle School, I taught 8th grade ELA gifted, regular, and inclusion classes and GA History gifted classes. I was 8th grade Lead Teacher for 2 years, SPED Dept. Chair for 2 years, ELA Dept. Chair for 1 year, Dodge County Middle School Special Education Teacher of the Year in 2013 and served on the Georgia State Superintendent’s Teacher Advisory Council for 4 years.
I have been blessed with two sons and three grandchildren. In my spare time, I enjoy baking, hiking, running 5Ks, traveling, reading, learning about other cultures, and spending time with family and friends.
